Russia: Moscow Metro

Teatralnaya station main hall/platform. It was formerly named Sverdlov Square after Yakov Sverdlov, one of the Bolshevik Party leaders. If you look carefully at the trackway walls, you may be able to make out marks left by the former name. The vaulted ceiling is decorated with coffers that feature theatre themed bas-reliefs. The pylons are faced with white marble; the floor is covered with black and yellow granite tiles arranged in a checker-board pattern.

A surprise card from a postcrosser to who I've sent a thankyou card. Yeah, it's complicated :) Thank you, Yulia!

    1. Видимо. Офигенная марка, кстати. Шрифтовая работа идеальна.
      Марки с метро просто мечта!
