Finland: In a bathtub
Reprint of a vintage photo from the beginning of the century. Interesting, kids and dogs are not at all among my favourite things, but for some reason I like this card. Maybe because of the hot chocolate? :)

U.S.A.: Wright Flyer III
1905 Wright Flyer III. Huffman Prairie Flying Field. Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park.
A replica of the 1905 Wright Flyer III takes to the air above Huffman Prairie Flying Field. The field preserves the place where the Wright brothers learned to control and maneuver their plane in the air. Their longest flight above the field occured on October 5, 1905 covering some 24 miles in 39 minutes.
I'm happy to have these special cancels!
Private swap. Thanks, Erin!

Samsung Touchnote: Detroit, Michigan
I gave my friend the challenge theme "Ghost cities" and she sent me this card with Detroit, Michigan. She wrote: "Detroit used to be HUGE as far as the industry went. Now it's a graveyard of empty buildings and warehouses. What's going to happen to them? Do they demolish them or allow them to crumble? What (if anything) do they rebuild? Should they allow nature to come back into the city? At least nature would be living..."

Samsung Touchnote: Ghosted Dayton
I gave my friend the challenge theme "Ghost cities" and she sent me this card with an abandoned block in her own town, Dayton OH. There is a span of 3 city blocks that are completely vacant. The windows are broken, and the building is just falling apart. Dayton has lost a lot of it's industry and can't seem to attract new businesses to the downtown. It is a shrinking (and dying?) city.
